"Tell me a fable..." "A fable? What kind of fable little one?" The older woman smiled warmly, lightly brushing her pale hair from her twinkling blue eyes. The younger girl giggled, grinning from ear to ear; she had been hoping for a story that afternoon. "A fable with princesses and fighting, and a prince!" The child's eyes lit up shinning a blue to match her grandmother's. "A handsome prince! Who saves the princess! Ooh, please grandmother I want to hear a fable about a prince who fights to save a beautiful princess!" Smiling again, the older woman nods, taking the girl into her lap, she absently played with the girl's hair while she spoke of a prince and a princess. "Once a long long time ago, there was a prince who helped all the princesses in the land. That was all he did; every morning he'd wake up and go to far off kingdoms to help the princesses there; and every evening he would return home tired, and his sister would care for him. The prince's sister loved him most of all, and when he became very sick, she refused to let him leave their home any longer. The people of the kingdoms were angry at the sister. Calling her an evil witch, they brought a million swords to pierce her. The sick prince watched this, and he began to hate the people he had protected for so long; so the prince took his sister far away from these people who no longer deserved his care. All his powers of good disappeared, and the now bitter-prince wanted the powers back. For years, this prince and his sister tried all they could to get this power back, for the sister loved her brother still loved him as much as she ever had. The now bitter-prince and his sister the witch used many noble men, using their goodness to try and free the power of the long dead good prince. Until the day that the spirit of the good prince met a young girl, and gave her a ring. This girl grew up, wanting to become just as noble as the prince she met as a child. When she turned 14 she changed schools, this girl was to change the life of the evil prince and his sister." The woman now held a sleeping child in her arms. Slowly she carried her to her room, lying her down in her bed of pink sheets. Covering her in the sheets, a flash of memories hit her. Smiling to herself the woman leaned over and kissed the young girl on the forehead. The young girl smiled in her sleep, her pink hair matching the blankets that surround her. Pushing her own pink hair from her eyes, the older woman quietly closed the door to the child's room when she heard the girl call to her. "Grandmother?" Peeking her head back into the room she looked to the young girl who looks so much as she did at that age. "Yes, little one?" "Will you finish the story tomorrow Grandmother?" Smiling again, the twinkle back in her deep blue eyes, she nods, and blows the girl a kiss before shutting the door again; telling the child she needed her rest. Slowly she made her way down to her own room at the end of the hallway. Changing and climbing into bed, she turns on her side, and a picture frame comes into view. Sitting on her nightstand was a picture of the older woman as a teenager; next to her was another young girl with purple hair pulled up tightly. Tenjou Utena reached out and picked the picture frame up, kissing the photo lightly, she shed a small tear as she set it back down. "Goodnight Himemiya."
