a christmas tale (utena style) by: rabbit-chan warning: contains shoujo-ai and controversial roles pertaining to the Virgin Mary and angels. if you are offended by this I'm terribly sorry, but don't read it if it's going to perturb you. --- "Hey, Himemiya! Look at this!" Utena shouted as she held up a book. "What is it, Utena-sama?" Anthy looked up, gazing at the book. "I dunno. The prin'ts kinda wearing off, but I think it's a book of Christams stories." "Christmas?" "Yeah, you know...a Christian holiday. We just learned about it in world history...oh! This one looks interesting...want me to read it?" "Hai, Utena-sama." "Well, it begins a long time ago..." --- i have traveled many moonless nights cold and weary with a babe inside and i wonder what i've done holy father you have come and chosen me to carry your son --- The girl had ridden on the donkey for quite some time, and the only good it had done was help Her think. But Her thinking made Her doubt even more. She thought with a look to her abdomen, But alas, this girl had some very special qualities. Her noble heart, Her pure mind, and Her innocent spirit. She was still a very normal girl, however, the type who would befriend anyone. She was also very religious. --- i am waiting in a silent prayer i am frightened by the load i bear in a world as cold as stone must i walk this path alone? be with me now be with me now --- The girl gingerly stepped off the donkey near an empty building. She knelt down, hands clasped in prayer. *** The tangerine-haired angel smiled at her companion, a purple-haired angel with dark skin. "It's your chance to go to Her. Take it. It's one of the only ones you'll get." "Yes...thank ye. Despite rumors, you are very kind." The ginger-haired one smirked, but it softened into a smile. "I know how it feels...now go." --- breath of heaven hold me together be forever near me breath of heaven --- The girl sighed and stood up. As She turned around, She saw an angelic vision. Her face lit up as the heaven-sent messenger stepped toward her. The plum-haired oracle kept moving close until she was just inches away. The girl's blue eyes widened as the lips of a seraph (1) touched Hers in a chaste kiss. *** The seraph's citrus-haired companion watched with an abnormal smile on her angelic features. Before long, however, her attention turned to it's normal holder, a wine-haired demigoddess. --- breath of heaven lighten my darkness pour over me your holiness for you are holy breath of heaven --- The angel took the girl's hand and led Her to a room. A smile lit up Her face as the fallen angel spun around and engaged Her lips in a passionate kiss. Though surprised, the pink-haired girl fully returned the sensual touch with Her mouth. --- do you wonder as you watch my face if a wiser one should have had my place but i offer all i am for the mercy of your plan help me be strong help me be help me --- The two were entangled with each other on a convenient down-feather matress. Pink and purple hair mixed, as did holy robes and earthly cloths. ‘Wanton' was whispered by Her and the seraph nodded but pulled the girl closer and seduced Her lips in another corporeal kiss that She returned with all Her soul. "Don't ever go." The girl meant it as a whisper but it came out a moan. The angel backed up a few inches. "I can't promise that I'll be here physically, as I am now, but trust that I will always be watching over ye until thy Judgement Day comes." "Thank you. I...I think I love thee." An angel's smile lit up the room. "You'll make it, my love," the seraph whispered, "But tonight, you are mine," she finished as they joined lips once more in an ardorous kiss. *** The wine-haired demigoddess went on as a bronze-haired angel watched. "My love...I will be with you again," the seraph whispered, though she knew the reason they were split was that angels couldn't consort with someone who had demon's blood, like the half-goddess, whose other part was demonic. And so the seraph clutched a golden locket. *** When the girl woke up, the angel was seemingly gone. She adjusted Her clothes and went outside, gracefully getting on the donkey-- --- "What a wondrous story," Arisugawa Juri said softly. "Ne, you thought so, Juri-senpai?" Utena asked. "I have to wonder though, because it felt so real, if those things really happened." Anthy had a knowing smile on her face. "Perhaps they did, Utena- sama...perhaps they did." +owari+ (1) Seraphim are, in Christian theology, any of the highest order of angels, above the Cherubin. disclaimer: shoujo kakumei utena belongs to chiho saito and kunihiko ikuhara and a bunch of other businesses. the song "breath of heaven (mary's song)" belongs to amy grant and chris eaton. notes: if you made it this far, i have to say i'm proud. i really enjoyed writing this, so i hope you enjoyed reading it.
