This is my first serious Utena fic. It takes place right before the Dark Rose Duelists enter the series, to be more precise it is before the episode "Tracing a Path". This coincides with the seven duels Utena had to face. This is not perfectly true to the series. My best friend said that this is confusing like the movie! This would be a great OAV/OVA series. Now, for non-kanji readers, there is plenty of Japanese in here to confuse even me. And I wrote the damn thing! Please enjoy and e-mail me with any questions, comments, compliments, concerns, or ideas! My address is " Babylonsphoenix@hotmail.com I expect to hear from EVERYONE on this! Love, Annie =) Kiseki no Ken The Sword of Miracles Chapter One: Akio's Wrath "If we cannot break out of it's shell, the chick will die without ever being born. We are the chick and the world is our egg. If we do not crack the world's shell, we will die without truly being born. Smash the world's shell . . .For the Revolution of the World!" "End of the World has sent another letter. He is trapped in the Real World." Touga slammed a dagger into the table. Kaorou Miki's watch stopped. He quickly scribbled in his notebook. "What are you going to do?" A sly grin crossed over the Student Council President's face. "Revolution cannot be achieved without the End of the World." "I will challenge Tenjou to a battle," Jury announced. "No," Touga stood up from his seat. His Rose Signet glittered in the sun's light. "Touga-sempai?" Miki looked up at him. "Duelist?" "To save the world," he fondly pushed back a lock of his red hair. "For the Revolution of the World." "Ohayo, Utena-san," Anthy greeted. She held a small pink bag filled with food. "I made you lunch." "Arigatou," she took the bag. "But I don't think that I'll be eating today." "Of course! I almost forgot." Though disturbed, she smiled. "I wish you luck, Utena-san." "You're going to be there!" She exclaimed. The school bell chimed. "Koi, Utena-san, or we'll be late." "Whatever," she sighed and dragged her feet to class. Why does he challenge me? Touga . . . Then, as if sensing her thoughts were of him, the devil came. He leaned in for a kiss, but received a slap instead. Slightly annoyed, he ignored the painful sting. "What do you want?" She demanded. Pink tints birthed upon her cheeks. "You," he laughed as though he had just said something amusing. "Be prepared to lose today." "And let you have Anthy again? Ile!" "You act as though she's your prize! Didn't you get upset when Sayonji did that?" "Onore!" Utena slapped him again, then ran off to head to her homeroom. Thoughtfully, he rubbed his sore cheek. "Let's see how you survive in the Real World." Baka onore! Who the hell does that jerk think he is anyway? Her feet thundered up the stairs. I hate people like him! "Oomph!" "Eh, gomen gozaimasu," a voice apologized. "Huh?" She looked up to face her victim. "Ouji-sama?" "Welcome to the Real World, Dios." A man greeted. "Dare-?" A flash of a lavender ponytail gave way to the intruder. "Tired of this game, ne?" "Akio!" "It's been a long time. You've lost all your power, ouji-sama. Consequently, you shouldn't be alive." "What do you want with me?" He choked. "I want the ability to grant the world Revolution," he grinned deviously. "By having you here, Tenjou Utena cannot take that from me." Dios felt weak-was it because Akio brought him to the Real World? He could barely move. All his muscles seemed to have been made out of rubber. "Do you even know what it is?" "Revolution?" He chuckled. "Of course. We are the same, Dios." Akio began to walk away. "Matte! Where are you going?" "I'll be back, Dios. Somehow, your ouji-sama has to save you!" "N-Nani? Onegai, Akio, yamero!" "Honto?" He laughed ominously. "Sayonara." "Matte! MATTE!" Dios had no power. Though in the Real World, he was still trapped within himself. "Tasukete keru! Dareka!" He shouted, not expecting anyone to hear him. "Watashi . .aa . .wakaranai." Utena tore the Ken no Tamashii from Anthy's chest and raised it to the spinning castle. "Grant me the power to bring the world Revolution!" An evil grin crept over Kiryuu's face. "That power no longer exists!" He charged at her. "Nani?" She barely managed to dodge his attack. He's trying to catch me off my guard. I won't lose to him! Sweat beaded on her brow. He's tough! ‘Dios can't save you, Utena!" He violently lunged an attack straight at her. "Only your true ouji-sama can save you!" Touga smirked. His opponent leaped out of his way. With a mirthless laugh, he realized that she had yet to confront him. "Aren't you going to strike, Tenjou?" "Huh?" She stopped as soon as she noticed that he did. "If you believe that you can win," he pointed his sword to the ground, "Then charge. Won't your ouji-sama save you?" While Utena was lost in a daze trying to capture his words, Touga rapidly approached her. The tip of his blade was aimed at her white rose. A blinding light erupted from the Ken no Tamashii. No! Touga realized. The castle! Demo . . .Dios is-! He stopped dead cold in his tracks. "Aaahhh!" Utena screamed. The spiraling fortress cracked, releasing the illumination. Shards started to crumble into the arena. Tiny pieces penetrated her flesh. Blood splashed from the wounds. "Utena-san!" Anthy cried. "Daijoubu desu ka?" "Touga!" She yelled. "Touga!" "N-Nani?" He was too stunned to move. "Uso!" The memory of the little girl he had saved flashed in his mind. IT was Tenjou Utena . . Touga's feet gave way under him. Ken no Tamashii flew from Utena's strong hold. "Aaahh!" Her nails dug into her palms. "Ile!" Anthy protested. "Ken no Tamashii! Itai!" A rock hit her in the abdomen. She tripped, attempting to take back her sword. "Ile!" The light consumed them and swallowed them whole. A sound of faint laughter could be heard. Lavender hair blew wildly in the winds. The arena collapsed. "Earthquake?" Wakaba wondered. She gripped her desk tightly. "Utena-kun!" Miki's stop watch fell to the stone floor. It broke apart, yet a time was still imprinted on the face. His journal's pages fluttered and tore, though a pencil marked his page. "Kaorou!" Jury gasped, then found herself disappearing. "Nani?" She clutched her locket. The chain snapped, and the Rose Duelist's handle on the charm broke. Once landed, it snapped open. The picture of her love seemed to have been laughing at the current predicament. "That's why I took him, and I have no regrets about it. You must hate me." Shiori had once told her. Oniisama! Nanami's thoughts stretched out to her older brother. She made a mad dash out of the classroom. "Kiryuu Nanami!" The teacher called after her. "Nanami!" Gomen nasai . . .She ran all the way to the elevator which led to the Student Council meeting place. "Oniisama! Oniisama!" Nanami fingered the Rose Signet she wore. "Doko-?" A dark figure appeared. "Konichi wa, Nanami-san." "Dare da?" "My name is Akio," he leaned in to her and kissed her firmly on the lips. She managed to push him away. Then, a hand penetrated his cheek. "How dare you! Hentai!" Akio chuckled, then noticed the ring on her finger. "Duelist?" Anticipation overwhelmed him. He grabbed Nanami by the wrists. "Hanase!" She tried to squirm out of his strong grasp. "Han-a- se!" Nanami fell on the ground. "Ungh!" Her hand scraped against the floor. "You hurt me! Baka!" He laughed at her insult. "Stop it! Tell me oniisama is!" She demanded. "Oniisama?" He flung his ponytail over his shoulder. "I believe that he is in the Real World." "Nanda? The Real World? Wakaranai . . .Watashi wakaranai!" She screamed at him. "Ima . . You will, Nanami-san." Akio's body had a strange glow around it. "Ike!" Nanami screamed before vanishing to the Real World. She fell next to a tree. Grass stains marked her Student Council uniform. "Itai!" She cried. "Doko wa-?" Someone approached her. In the dark, Nanami could not make out whom it was. Frightened, she huddled nest to the tree. "Dare wa?" The person demanded. The glitter of a weapon reflected in her eyes. "Aaaahhhh!" She squealed as the stranger lowered his weapon to her. "Do you know? Do you know? Have you heard the news?" "Hyah!" C-ko raised her katan. "The arena is gone!" "Is it ouji-sama? Oh, no! The arena is gone!" "Don't worry, we're gone, too!" "Baka! Don't say that!" B-ko shouted. "Look, the roses are dying! I'll tend to the roses!" C-ko sniffed a fake flower. "I found a sword. I wonder where it came from. But now I can battle for Revolution!" She swung the graceful weapon. "Do you know? Do you know? Have you heard the news?"
